Herb is based at KOMO Radio and Television in Seattle. He is also a consumer
contributor to NBC’s Today Show, where his highly-acclaimed Toy Test is #1 in
the country. Since 1990, Herb’s Toy Test has helped millions of parents and
grandparents pick good toys for their kids. Before joining Today, Herb was the
Consumer Correspondent for CBS News. Herb’s also covered the consumer beat for:
Woman’s Day, FamilyPC and Good Housekeeping magazines. Herb has won numerous awards, including 5 Emmys. In June of 1994, he received the consumer world’s top honor: “The Consumer Media Service Award” presented by the Consumer Federation of America. His FireBusters series has been
credited with saving lives. Herb’s investigative consumer reporting has been
honored by the Associated Press, Columbia Journalism Review and the Herb graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Television-Radio and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising. Herb is a real animal lover, who is
active in the Humane
Society for Seattle/King County.
Herb lives
near Seattle with his wife, and their critters, Jack and Casey. That’s Jack &
